Grown Up Coloring Books

So I, only recently, discovered that grown-up coloring books are the latest rage right now. I was having a really busy day when I walked into Barnes & Nobles and walked right into a display of all these different types of coloring books. I purposefully went in there for a quick, do something I like to do, moment. I LOVE browsing books, magazines, and the stationary section. When I saw these it took me back to my childhood when I used to like to color everything on my homework. I thought to myself, why not bring some old fun into my life and try this during down time. It seemed so much more pleasant than staring at Facebook on my phone or watching a show. I went ahead and made my purchase, including some pens to get me started. Since then, I have purchased more pens online to give me more of a variety.

I would strongly suggest trying out each pen on a blank piece of paper at first so that you know what to expect from the colors. I was brave and just went for it on my coloring sheets. Part of me regrets it and another side says "chillax, there are worse things in life." It is part of my relaxing routines that I am trying to implement. :)

I just wanted to show you what I have been up to and what has really gotten me to focus on the present and keep my mind busy on what is in front of me, instead of worrying or letting my mind completely veg out. I am still experimenting with other pages as well and will probably use colored pencils at some point, too. As  you can see I started to use the darker blue, which is a lot harder to keep between the lines than the other colors. My pen has a stray hair that I need to trim.

If you are looking for a fun thing to do in your down time, I would definitely get one of these. There are all different levels of complexity in all the different books so if this looks complicated keep searching! If you have any other questions, let me know!
